THE INTENSIVE 5-DAY PROGRAM

Temple Law is pleased to invite lawyers of the Italian Bar to participate in an intensive legal educational program and learn the basics of the US legal system. The courses are taught by two of Temple Law’s superb law faculty:  Professor Rafael Poratta-Doria and Professor David Sonenshein. At the conclusion of the program, participants will be presented a certificate of completion and will earn up to 20 “crediti formativi per la professione forense.”  

 

The program runs for five days, from 7 March to 11 March 2011. It consists of two courses taught each day:  Introduction to the American Legal System and Comparative Civil Litigation. 

•          Introduction to the American Legal System: provides an overview of the American common law system in comparison to the European legal system, including sources of law, case analysis, precedent, legal reasoning, and the US judicial system. 

•          Comparative Civil Litigation: highlights the different approaches to litigation by focusing on the intricacies of trying a case in the US federal judicial system.
